So my Civic takes a while to get started when it is low on gas especially on cold days. My old one had this same problem. Does it need a new fuel pump, fuel filter or is it just something that happens to Civics?

Happens to people too; you been looking through my windows? Sounds like a partially blocked in-tank fuel filter.

They all do this. The fuel system loses it's prime when low on fuel for some reason. What I do is turn the key to RUN and let the fuel pump prime the full 2 seconds then crank, instead of inserting the key and going straight to START.
