I know a few people here watch Harry's garage, he didn't awesome series a year or so ago about have the engine rebuilt on his Lamborghini Espada. Now he's having his Lancia Fulva Zagato done. I knew they had a relatively narrow angle V4 but never knew much about it. The current episode is the strip down. Look at this engine, it's beautiful. Narrow angle V4 long before the VWVR6. 110-ish (Optimistic Italian) horsepower around 1970 for 1.3 L in a car that cost as much as a Jag E type. All of the engine routes go back to the 1920s. I have a new rabbit hole to go down. Here's a couple of screenshots of the head and the deck of the block, best I could get on my phone.

This was my favorite car to drive in Rally Trophy.  I'd no idea that it was a narrow angle single-head engine!

I remember when Clarkson drove one on Top gear and I had to double check he said V4. It sounded like a Craigslist ad.
So cool!

While narrow angle V4s are a staple of Lancia design back into the 1920s, each one is a complete re-design, and every one is a different angle! The only thing they seem to retain across all types is the single cylinder head. All brilliant artwork, and some are good engines as well.
