Size-wise they would be passable (Anything over 16" tends to make the Miata look like a roller skate) but I don't think stylistically they would work. YMMV though.
JG did a live feed from Long Road Racing Friday. They have lots of ND take-off wheels and tires from building the MX-5 Cup cars. Sounds like they are willing to sell and ship...
Look at the stock MazdaSpeed Miata wheels. They are 17s. Tends to look kind of wonky on the NA/NBs, to me personally.
I like the 15x9 225/45 look personally.
We've done it. It looks awkward. The tire diameter is big (obviously can be rectified) and the offset is high. Oddly, it looks worse than MSM wheels on the same car even though the dimensions are very similar.
Now, the Catfish looks great on a set of ND 17x9s.
