I guess the title should have read: Have you ever needed an oddball coolant hose? Failure to proofread gets me every time.
I have. My usual fix is to bend up a piece of wire and go dig through the auto parts store assortment until I find something close. Kind of a pain, and the auto parts stores don't really want you back there anymore.
Enter this PDF. The Gates Coolant Hose ID Guide. This is an awesome resource if you need odd hoses. Part numbers and images of every hose Gates makes for vehicles. It includes ID and centerline length. 168 pages of images sorted by ID.
I am in need of a couple of hoses for the boat engine cooling system. Odd stuff. Different sized ends. For instance, I need a hose that goes from 1" to 1.25", I need it with a 90-degree bend on the 1" end, and I need the 1.25 end to be about 10 inches long. A Gates 22874 was almost perfect. It's 1.06 ID on the short end and 1.2 ID on the long end. I can work with that.

A 1" hose with a 90 degree bend on one end that is going to loop up and over to the heat exchanger inlet from the manifold? Gates 21605. A 2" curved hose that is long enough to loop under the engine from the water pump at the front to the heat exchanger at the back? Gates 22068
I'll be saving this one for future reference.

I'm about to need this. Thank you!
Very handy. Thanks. Bookmarked and downloaded.
Great , I have a Fiat 600 that will need hoses
Your timing sharing this is outstanding. THANKS!!
Yep used them to fix a close washer years ago. The parts guy at the time would let my in the back where they are all hanging and just pick through the until I find what I need.
I think I was quoted in the part of the magazine who's name shall not be spoken. Something like I used and 80s Honda rad hose to fix an 80s something close washer. That washer lived on another 10 years and then was donated to a friend that needed one to wash shop rags.
Thanks this is going to come in handy.
Wow, perfect timing! I have been looking for a 7/8" ID hose to go from my air pump to the air cleaner. That is very much a nonstandard size. I was able to quickly find a couple part numbers that might work with some cutting.
Thank you very much!!

Thank you too. My approach is a combination of rubber or silicon bends and either exhaust or other tubing. I have a bead roller so it's not hard to put the bead on the end of tubing so the hose clamps stay on. Plus I'm careful to make sure the slight extra length pushes the hose to stay together rather than too short and have it pulling apart.
