So I head a valve job on my Firebird, (1991 305) and the right head gasket appears to be leaking. Of course the Victor Nitroseal head gasket claims "no retorque neeeded" Should I try it before tearing it apart again? If I do it, how should I proceed? Tighten 5 more pounds from where they are? Back off a bit and then tighten to spec? I did use new head bolts and the threads were clean.

I did this on a recently rebuilt Nissan QR20 motor. It solved the leaking head gasket issue and is still running 100% today.

We loosened all of the head bolts to 0 ft lbsand then installed new bolts one by on in the factory torquing procedure. I would think just adding torque without allowing the head to "rest" would be a bad idea, but I could be wrong.
