I don't know if you are filling your DEF tanks or just having it done, but I thought I'd pass along something I didn't know before. DEF fluid is VERY corrosive to copper and other metals and has a very high rate of capillary action. If you spill this stuff on a wire, it will travel up the wire at a rate of 24 INCHES PER HOUR!!! While it's cruising up that wire it's causing expensive damage since it starts to oxidize metal almost immediately.
Here's the effects.

P.S. Don't get it on your hootus.

LOL- it's so closely related to the stuff that already comes out.

The Ford trainer who comes around calls it "Diesel pee".
My coworker brought up an interesting point.
What would happen if something failed inside the DEF injector? We've seen leaky power steering pressure switches fill the O2 sensors with ATF (ruining them) after first thoroughly lubricating the PCM. Waterproof connectors work both ways.
My first thought was, better hope it corrodes the wiring apart before it makes it to the computer or power junction box.

Basically every fluid in a car can ruin other things on the car. DEF (diesel exhaust fluid, aka urea, adblue, etc.) is now included in a long list of chemicals used in a modern vehicle that is really nasty. Ever spill brake fluid on your car? Sulfuric acid? Nasty stuff!

So I shouldn't pee on my wiring harness or sensors?

That was my reaction. 2 feet per hour!??!
My brother just got a new engine in his 2013 duramax chev. Injector pump was worn out and sent filings through the motor.

No, generally it's not acceptable to urinate on your own car.
Or someone you like.
Now it's it's someone you don't like, well....

According to the signs on the car, even "grime" will cause cancer in Californians.
The only things that won't cause cancer in Californian's is pure oxygen, tofu, and the Toyota Prius.
