I have never posted to anything like this before so I'm not sure how this works. But yesterday, we had a huge rain storm. I was caught driving through it and after a bit my car died and white smoke came out of the exhaust. I had help pushing my car into a parking lot. Was told to check my air filter under the hood and it was SOAKED. I also check my coolant and oil. No water seemed to be in either one. I bought a new filter and wiped out the box. Let the car sit for a couple hours and it started fine. Runs fine. No weird noises. Should I be concerned or do you think I got lucky and everything is ok. Sorry this is long. My car is a 2006 saturn ion. 2.2 liter
I've had a similar thing happen and my car was fine afterwards.

If there was an issue, you would know about it already.
I am going to say you were sucking enough water to keep it from running, but not enough to hydrolock it. I would still change the oil first chance you get
You’re probably fine. At least check the oil to see if it looks weird (in case water got in) as well as transmission fluid (same reason)
It didn’t hydrolock the motor and it still runs [presumably] the same so bullet dodged!

I scheduled an oil change for tomorrow morning. Do you think I can still drive it to work today?

I checked oil yesterday and will again today, nothing seemed wrong with it. Some reason I can't check transmission fluid under the hood. Since I am very stupid about cars, I have no idea where to look. Getting oil changed tomorrow so they will look then I'm sure.
I've never had this issue before, but those I know that have, have had no further issues after replacing or drying out the filter. What kind of vehicle? More importantly manual or auto? Some don't have a way to check transmission fluid.
How deep was this water? LOL. Or was it simply the downpour that clogged your filter?

Its was raining HARD and hit a couple deep area. After the 2nd deeper spot, battery light came on and car died.
Sounds like you dodged a hydro lock. I wonder if there is something in the intake or how the car senses airflow that shuts it down to help prevent hydro locking .
