So I'm in the process of getting my Miata converted to back to NA from an older turbo setup for track reliability and with that removing an older link setup. I'm 95% done and I have a random wire that I don't know where it came from. The car was fully loaded with PS and AC that I've have removed and gone to no AC and a converted to manual power steering rack.

When I look at the wiring diagrams here: http://www.mellens.net/mazda/Mazda-Miata-1994/wiring.pdf it says steering pressure sensor but I don't remember any electrical connections there or on the pump.

If it is right, Would there be any concerns running it disconnected a manual rack? I wouldn't think so but not sure if it would cause some weird behavior.

My guess is that it's for the fan switch that used to be in the front water neck before the coolant reroute was installed.  IIRC that was a single wire sensor.  I'm assuming the car has Megasquirt or some other aftermarket ECU installed that's controlling the fan?

That looks like a power steering pressure sensor connection :) Yes, there was a wiring going to the pump. Shouldn't cause any real problems running without, I think it's mostly there for idle compensation when the PS is dragging down the engine.

That wire is only found on a 1990-93, FYI.

Ahh- didn't know that.  Carry on then.

Perfect. Thanks for the quick response Keith.

High Plains opened this last weekend so I really want to get it all done so I can hit the track by the end of the month. This marks just another thing off the to do list.
