Bought a wrecked MR2 a while back. I THINK the guy said it had a mustang or GM throttle body...cant recall.

Any idea what it is? ID is 70mm

Any numbers on the casting?

The throttle end looks kinda like some GM as does the general shape of the TPS, but the rest of it doesn't.  GM generally integrates an idle air controller with the throttle body.

Apparently, washers are for suckers.

Not sure on the throttle body, but that throttle position sensor was likely made by CTS Corporation, I had a co-op job with them in college. And the "06692" stamped into it reads like a Julian date: the 66th day of 1992. The "526" before that might mean the 526th part made that day. That might help narrow it down. Good luck.

The previous owner spent a LOT of money on this build...and then heavily skimped on other things like what you mention. Its been a headache

01-04ish Ford product V6.  Looks an awful lot like one from an Escape or Tribute.  Mustang ones are similar but the throttle cams are different.
