Sorry for the low image quality, can anyone ID this car? All I know is that the bolt pattern is 5-lug Mustang (5x4.5), as those are Mustang wheels.

Thanks!

Looks like a CLK roofline....

Also, if you wanted to be REALLY fancy, run the plate through the DMV and see what it comes up as.

neg, those are camaro SS wheels, and the convertible top and long nose look f-body as well.

so my guess is f-body based hack job.

Looks like an Avanti convertible to me, and since they used a lot of GM driveline bits would be surprised if the hubs were anything but GM F-Body parts. They cribbed a lot of things from the F-Body to make these things later in life.

This looks right to me, thought that interior is straight out of an S197 Mustang.

Yup... newer Avanti. They put body kits on F-bodies and sell them as Avantis these days.

Both.

Yes, Avanti did conversions to GM F-bodies.

But now that F-bodies are no longer available new, Avanti is putting out Mustang bodies. The black one shown in the original post is a Mustang version.

I am going with Avanti as well, I remember the Avanti Motor company released another design in 2005/2006

The black car looks to be the same as the black one in the news and events page.

Does not even compare to the original Avanti.

When I was a kid my father had a friend with an original restored version in his garage. Gorgeous car. He also had a Studebaker Dual Cowl Phaeton of some sort. This was around 1981.

I have often wondered what happened to those cars. I later wound up working with his son at a Mercedes dealership. He drove a Daimler sp250 as a daily driver that was in 1986.

So, for the Mustang/Avanti, I was wondering what they charge for such "exclusivity." The company website gives no numbers but a little internet searching shows that for 2006 a hardtop V6 model had a suggested price of $61,950.
Such a bargain!

This 2002 Trans Am/Avanti claims to have had a list price of 83,000.

The original is a Mustang. Here is another (yes, there seems to be more than one of these abominations.)

Notice how nicely the tires fill out the fender openings!
The wheels do not look centered on the openings to me.

Here you can find some pictures of "the artful transformation" in process.

The originals were gorgeous in a funky way, these are just- mehhh. Avanti has certainly had a number of permutations over the years, but this one is just bad. Factory Five builds a clone of a 40 year old car and I have never heard a bad word about them. Too bad Avanti couldn't do the same thing.
