I wasn't quite sure where to put this, but I briefly had a Lapis Plymouth Neon ACR Coupe. It was clean, unmolested and stock. I actually had a matching Plym DOHC Coupe too (was my sis's first car back in 98)....for whatever reason, I became attached to neons in that funny purple/blue color lol.

Anyway, while out of the country, the GF took the ACR out to get groceries, only to have a speeding taxi run a redlight and t-bone her. It was a write off, she was hurt bad, but it could have and should have been worse. So sad story aside, the ACR was gone. Now I need another.

I've raced with my other Coupe, but it's not obviously not the same. Help reunite me with the car I've lost.

Sorry for the n00bish post. I'm a vet to the Mopar/DSM community, but new here.

There's a guy on neons.org in Florida selling an ACR roller with a bolt-in cage for $400. I think it's a former LeMons car. It's not Lapis, but it is totally hideous, so stripping it down and painting it would help to give the car its dignity back...

(I mean, it's awful. If the owner of that car is on here, I apologize, but wow -- not my thing at all. In fact, the only thing keeping me from hooking up the trailer and going to get it to pull the drivetrain out of my car and put it in it is the paint job)

hahaha, I've seen some bad ones, so I can only imagine. Finding one that isn't stripped down, gutted out just nasty is going to be tough. I kind of want a clean stock one, just to hold on to. They can only be stock once, and ACRs hold a special place in my heart.

Doesn't have to be Lapis, but that would be neat! I found a thread with the exact car Im after, but I think I chimed in too late...think he sold it.

I'm of no help, but as a neon enthusiast who also really digs the several funky colors chryco put on them, i sincerely hope you are able to get the one you want.

Yeah, Lapis was about my favorite color, and rare in ACRs. I would check at neons.org as the largest and probably best (at least the good people are really good) Neon community. Good luck!

I don't think he has decided yet but my dad may want to sell his ACR. Its almost completely stock, and a very rare one (NYG plymouth 4 door, one of 15 as far as I know), but it needs paint, the front struts are dead, the rad support is slightly bent, etc. It has around 375k miles on it, but the engine and transmission both have much lower mileage.

In reply to Travis_K:

375k...wow that's a lot of miles! I know neons get squeaky, rattly at 100k, so I can't imagine 375k! lol. I'd be interested though I suppose, if he wants to think about it. 4drs are SOHC. NYGs are rare, but seem to be the most popular among neon lovers (or at least the ones I see the most of).

I frequent neons.org, which has a wealth of knowledge. ACRs pop up from time to time, but mostly as part-outs, or gutted race shells, or modded/2.4 swapped versions. I know a lot of guys that have shied away from .org, just because at times it seems overran by 17yr olds with brightly painted interiors and faux hoodscoops lol. I was hoping to score a gen elsewhere. I promise, it'll be well loved!

Welcome to the forum. Hopefully someone here has a lead for you. I'm wondering if somewhere there's a decommissioned autocross ACR out there with your name on it.

While it was ultimately GRM that sold my car, it was on the .org where I found it.

You can get lucky when an old-timer comes out of the woodwork and posts his car for sale. That's how I found mine.

thanks for the links! I see a ton of 2G ACRs for sale, even locally. A stock, clean 1G is rare as anything. The few that are stock, were beat from daily driver duty. That silver one is nice, but looks tired
