i have 1" spacers on front and 1.25" on back
i know one guy has 2" spacers on back of his to get them out about even with the quarter panel lip.
so what 3 mods for $600 got you into the 14's? i'm listening with great interest.
i'm looking to get the vette into the 12's over winter so the vic is going to feel super slow come springtime.
K&N FIPK GenII
Superchips Hand-held Tuner
2.5" cat-back under-axle with Flowmaster 40's
All three ran me $550 used (except the exhaust pipes, which were custom made new). Basically open up the intake and exhaust and grab a tuner and you have 14's. I scored a dry nitrous kit here on GRM for $150 that will net me another 125-shot
Most guys can hit 14's with a decent tire and a nice tuner on the stock stuff with an 03+
I guess I should word that better, it takes 1.5" spacers to have good fitment. These cars have so much room in the wheels wells you can run some really off wheels and it'll still fit without any issues just look really stupid with the wheels about 6" inside the fenders. I'm not sure about the absolute max with the 98-02, or the 92-97 panthers but on 79-91 panthers I do know that with the correct offset and simply folding the inside lip of the fenders 17X10.5" with 315/30 tires will fit on all four (4) corners.
I'm running 17x9 up front on 1" spacers and 17x10 in back with no spacers.
on my '02
I run 17X9s with 275/40s on all 4 corners with no spacers, but they are 0 offset wheels

The boat deed or the neon deed?
Congrats on the purchase!
I don't know about you, but I love my Land Yatch.
i need a relatively low cost idea for a good sounding exhaust. Delete cats and some flowmasters? ideas? nothing terrible loud, just some extra aura
Go to craigslist, search for Flowmaster, buy a pair of 2.5" in/out 40-series, and be done. I found my pair for $50 with less then 100 miles on them (guy still had the boxes and receipts). I did it a second time for my neighbor's 59 Buick Electra and found a pair for $40 that were 2 days old! Easy as pie.
Don't delete the cats. That would make you a douchebag.
how so? just delete the rear ones.

Because it increases pollution a lot, for no reason. It's a stupid redneck thing to do.
It's also not needed. P71's have modern 3-way cats and ECU's designed to take advantage of them. You wouldn't gain any power by taking them out. In fact, the only ones ever worth removing are the small pre-cats, and then only if you're going to a dedicated aftermarket setup for exhaust that includes better main cats.

On my '89 5.slow Crown Vic, the exhaust rusted off just behind the cats (all of them) and it sounded surprisingly good.
OK. Keeping the cats. All of em. Thanks DILYSI Dave
