Stiff sidewalls and larger voids make for great Rallyx tires (Cooper Weathermaster ST2).
My wife prefers Blizzaks and Haka's. She says the minivan turns into a monster truck that can plow through anything.

It's that time of year again, giving this thread a bump!
Now through Sept 11th General is giving $50 off, and through Sept 28th Tirerack is doing $50 off as well! Combined, $100 off the General's through Sept 11th, just in time for me to get my bonus this Friday and buy a set.

Holy crap! $148.96 plus shipping for FOUR awesome Miata tires!
This will be the last winter for the Blizzaks. Getting old and worn. Due to the higher price of new Blizzaks I most likely will go with the Generals next time.
I concur, thanks for the tip on pricing & rebates. I missed the end-of-season snow tire deals this spring so this is great timing as well.
I'm looking for a set of 225/55R17 or 235/55R17 snows to go on 7.5" rims. The Generals are pretty well regarded with 10+ million miles worth of reviews. Any opinions here on some other potential options? The Firestone Winterforce are still cheapest after rebate but I see mixed reviews on their performance. Also, the Yohokama Iceguard IG52C and Goodyear Ultragrip Winter both seem comparable.
I have a set of the Yokohama Iceguards on my Camry. They were a good tire in the ice until the magic layer wore off. It did take a while for that to happen. I don't buy Firestone since a set of those almost killed me 30 years ago, after almost killing my wife. Yeah, I hold a grudge.

Got my set in two days from TireRack! Great service as always.
Do I really NEED winter tires in Oklahoma? Probably not, but...
