This is my uncle's car, it's been sitting in the garage so long he can't remember the last time he started or drove it, and he's finally ready to get rid of it.
Here are the details:
1963 Austin Healey 3000 MKII
Series BJ7
Purchased in 1969 and has been garage kept since purchase. About 13,000 miles and has been garage storage for 32 years (as in, it hasn't seen the sun in 32 years).
So, great minds of GRM, what do you think it's worth?
I am going to guess: A lot. (those cars are worth WAY more then the somewhat similar MG's)
Suggestion: Certainly give a good wash / wax / detail before you offer it for sale. It will probably look new after a good detail.
Where is that located? I have a cousin who wants one of those.

It will get cleaned up before they officially list it for sale, but they want a ballpark of what to ask for it before they start prepping to sell it.
Maybe worth asking over on the Classic forum (IIRC the login carries over) and hope that Andy Reid sees the post.
Around 35 to 50 grand.
It's a dry, original, complete car. A total survivor which could be made fresh with just a good going over rather than a full on restoration.
Very much sought after in that condition.
Let them talk you down if you're willing, but there's no need.
That car is the Gold Standard ! !
Oh, and I forgot to mention, that's a BaT exclusive candidate if there ever was one.

Ya that one is rare and very desirable. A survivor with low miles. That might be worth shipping it to one of the major auction houses and let bidders fight over it.

Yeah, get them to notice it and then put it up for auction.

$2500. Call me.
Somehow I don't think he's gonna go for that. If I thought he would, it would be mine!
Seriously, do the Bring a Trailer thing. Big Healeys are going for crazy money right now. And probably will, for quite some time. Especially the 6cyl models. Unc's sitting on a small gold mine.
EDIT: BaT= Bring a Trailer.

I agree, Healeys are over valued. It's a good time to sell.

Don't sweat it. I kind of take it back, though..do what you can to talk to Andy Reid first. He's the auction & stuff editor for Classic Motorsports. Considering how fantastic the staff of the magazines are to all of us, I'll bet he can really help. Hey, the car's been sitting for how many years? What's another couple of days, right?

I love these cars, My first car was a 67 3000. they are notorius for frame rot. my dad bought my brother and I the car and said if your going to buy a pos it might as well be worth something when your finished. We spent years putting it back together then he sold it for cheap on whime. still miss that car. makes me want to get back on my 56' MGA.
Chris.
Value tough to say without a complete look at the frame.

I emailed them the link to Andy Reid's contact page on CM and told them to get in touch.
I heart Big Healeys. Unc might dig out a Hemming's Motor news, they typically have quite a few and he can see what others are asking. If it is a really solid low mileage non rusty (as in no surface frame rust, etc) 'survivor' he can get near the top of the scale. The moment a prospective buyer sees rust the car downgrades in their eyes. Doesn't matter that it may be completely benign.
