Picked up a unicorn this past weekend, and need help naming it. It's a 1994 BMW E34 wagon (530t) with V8 and manual transmission.
I'm trying to come up with something using (sauer) Kraut, grocery life, Heidi, Hans or who knows what. Best I've come up with is: Das Einhorn, which is German for unicorn. You guys got anything better?
The Kernel (one corn, aka unicorn)
Hahaha, gotta love the Germans. Per Google Translate, "the grocery getter" translates to "Lebensmittelgeschäft Getter". Just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?

"Einhorn" is German for unicorn.
Or you can take ECMs suggestion and combine it with Hogans Heroes to get Kernel Klink.

Whatever you name it don’t mention the war
I like kazoospec's suggestion. How about "Lebensmittelgeschäft shlepper"
Something the whole family can relate to might be good: how about "Roadtrip"?
Külbleuwagen
Pronounced “Cool blue wagon” but looks like Kübelwagen.
"$2018 Wagon Sub-class Runner-Up"
Gym. Tan. Grocery.
Or use German naming techniques with English words:
Eightcylindermanualtransmissiongreengrocerywagon.
Then abbreviate like the cool kids do: emtizzle.
How about: the grocerenator? (Spoken only with strong Austrian accent)
Meeräsche is mullet in german.
That car is business up front and party in the back..
I would just call it a BMW...never saw the need to give a car a name.
It is a pretty cool car - I didn't realize you could get a 530 touring with a manual transmission.
These are all good suggestions/ideas. I think naming this car is turning out to be more difficult than naming our kids.

BMW made them for the European market, as far as I know, none were imported here. A previous owner swapped the manual into this one.

That's not green?
Yes it's green. Kind of deceptive in that first pic. This one is shows it a bit different.

I'd call it 4 liter swap candidate.

Find a wrecked 540i(specifically an e34 540i, later engines bolt up, but the OBDII conversion is more difficult, though now that I think about it, I think I remember somebody running a 4.4L on a 4L ECU) yank the engine and the ECU. I don't think they ever sold manual 3L v8s in the states, so your flywheel and trans are already from a 4L car. Enjoy the 60/80ish extra HP/tq. It's the same engine family so it should be an easy swap.
I really like these, but I don't think the 3L v8 was an upgrade over the 3.5L straight six it replaced. The 4L was a lot stronger though. They all get similar fuel economy.
