A lady at my temp job has a problem with her blower not working.

I have narrowed it down to the relay or the motor being bad. Any ideas which is more likely? She has very little cash to take it anywhere. Which is why she asked me.

Please help.

Turn the blower on and smack it. If it starts, you need a blower motor.

Otherwise, find a wiring diagram and a test light.

There usually is a resitor to regulate the various speed. That and a bad connection on the blower are often the problem.

I was sure I'd have the answer - This was the underhood in my '02 ep3 Civic...

Blower motor transistor, probably. Happened in my '01. It's part number 7 on this diagram, takes all of 5 minutes to change out.

Another vote for the resistor.

Easy fix. All you'll probably need is a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the glovebox and you should see the electrical connector on the resistor, which is screwed into the side of the fan housing. Unplug the connector, remove the two screws and pull the resistor out. On the back are several coiled wires of different thicknesses. If one or more are broken, you've found the problem. Replace the resistor.

Ask her if the fan works on high, as that's usually the last to fail.

I know little or nothing about blowers in Hondas. But this thread proves why GRM rocks......
