I'm putting an 8.8 Ford rear axle in an SA RX7. It looks like I'll be able to use the Mazda lower mounts on the body with the Ford lower mounts on the axle with a custom length arm. I know the upper should be the same length as the lowers, and will be offset to the passengers side. I don't know how much offset will be ideal, and I don't know how high to mount the arm off of the axle centerline.

There is complex math out there relating to control arm offset, but is there a general rule of thumb?

I have seen 3 link set ups that had the upper link shorter then the lowers but I also have ones with nearly the same length as well. I did a quick search via Google and found a number of websites that cover setting up a 3 link. Some call it a 4 link as well if you count the panhard bar as a link.

Help setting up a three link? I think you need to talk with your significant other about that, not us.

I've read that post by Ron Sutton before, but I need to brush up on it. Thanks.
