Considering it's using a 3400 engine, which also was used in the Camaro, it'd be funny to do the old Mark Donohue/Penske/Sunoco paint scheme
The dark blue means that the dark green in the jambs might not be too noticeable. Swap out the Camaro on the quarter panel with Miata for laughs.
The earlier cars were a slightly lighter blue
If you want to spice up the paint job just for Challenge points, you could add some temporary yellow racing stripes with vinyl or plasti-dip (and I know you hate it from having to pick off a crusty layer of it recently, but it'll be fine if you don't let it get crusty.)

I made it a bit more subtle by getting rid of the meatball and the polished hood. I did a rough color change of the interior as well. Also if you have any ideas for the paint/livery in your head I would be more than willing to shop it for ya.
Big and bold. Looks cool.

Put on my work hat here for a mimute...
The 3400 was never in the camaro. The 3.4 l was. It is a totally different engine except for the block.
Nerd hat off.
I still like the idea of a throwback trans am paint job. The camaro are cool!
I had considered a smokey yunick livery for a minute. Hes my hero.
Mike, I considered a 'Smokey' Paint Job On Lot's of my Cars but None were ever Worthy.... How Ever,
A Nice Spainsh Red With Gold Might Look right.

Mikie There is more paint WORK after Spraying Metalflake than before, Stay with a Mettaliac
Yeah, I know. 20 gallons of clear to bury the flake.
I’ve been wanting to try the foam-roller Rustoleum thing. Last I checked, they have a line called “farm and implement” that has some more interesting colors than regular Rustoleum cans. Massey Ferguson Gray and Ford Tractor Blue look pretty cool.

Saying that out loud is asking for extra attention from Challenge scrutineers
Wow now I’m wondering what you guys can come up with for a white sn95 gt.

The magazine wants to see something that is bold, bright and simple that will photograph well. A white car is screaming for big red and blue pieces of vinyl/paint. Think last years eagle, but with less fancy.

The more i think about this, the better i like it. Not my original plan, and maybe not a long term livery, but it works!
What should the sides be?
And would round number plates be cool? I think that would work visually with the stripe better than the rectangles....

Sorry, but I can't get into this. the lower portion is TOO catfish-y to my eye:
In reply to Dusterbd13-michael :
You could do something like this on the front and then continue the stripe along the side where it wraps around?
In reply to rodknock :
Could we get that Photoshop onto an nb? It looks good in my head. ...
In reply to AnthonyGS :
Well, hell. I guess I'll bookend this with the other Martini paint sceme.

Pretty sure you can get it from a paint supply house. Or go ghetto cheap and dump arts and crafts glitter in there.
Is the glitter going to clog up the spray gun ?
All depends on the nozzle you use.
Skoal Bandit seems the obvious choice to me
Or Mountain Dew
Or Go Daddy
Patron
Think of the judges bribes!
Another cheap, green alternative is some pray glue and astroturf

I remember those trans am days fondly.
Like this but on an MX-5 instead of an RX-7?
