Only $1,299,000. Only 2,010 miles.
Nice car. But while the Hemi has that recognition, I'd take a 440 or 440-6 car. 90% of the performance for 60% of the price and the wedge is a lot less cantankerous. Honestly though, if I was getting the '71 'Cuda that I really wanted, it'd be a 340 4-speed car.
I'm really glad that there are people who value and care for those low mileage collectable cars but personally I've never had a desire to own one. A car that I can't drive seems somewhat pointless to me. I suppose if I had millions of dollars laying about looking for a place to invest I might feel differently
That's an incredible car. I see and appreciate both sides of it. A lot of guys that have cars like that have another with some miles on it they can drive. I have an all original 88 Carrera coupe Commemorative edition with 23k miles and an 85 targa Carrera with 70k plus miles. They get treated differently, but I enjoy them both a lot in different ways. A 2k mile hemi cuda though? I'd probably get chills just turning the key....there's just something about cars like that, for me anyway.
Yeah, got the release on that one. Not only is it a Hemi 'Cuda, but it has a ton of options--plus it's pretty much in as-purchased condition. For a fan, that's the one.
The same dealer is offering this Torino King Cobra.
JG and I are counting our pennies.

It's a pointless, useless object if nobody ever turns the key and drives it. Sometimes I feel like dressing up like Snidely Whiplash, breaking into car collections, propping up the rear wheels Ferris Bueller-style, and leaving the car running in top gear to run up the odometers on all these garage queens while cackling like a maniac. Now there's no reason to not drive the car! MUAHAHAHA!
As awesome as that car is, almost unfortunately for itself, because it's so over-the-top collector-wise, in a way it's nothing more than a very valuable sculpture.
I mean, if you imbued the car with a personality, right now it's dying inside. Cursed to just sit there motionless, a victim of its own rarity.
I sort of see the point. I, personally, wouldn't own it or spend the money if I had the money, but for a car guy or gal who likes to collect things for their historical value, I get it. As a collector of inanimate objects that have no real purpose (fossils, gem stones, rare earth elements), I think you can still appreciate a thing even if it doesn't really do anything.

I always think they are one of those plastic model cars that I put together in junior high to sit on a shelf.
While waiting for My wife to get through with her Surgery This Morning (a stint), I Had a chance to look through a couple Issues of the Dupont Regestry, there were several Hemi Cudas, some Boss9 Mustangs asssorted Shelby's BUT NO Torino King Cobras, Hope ya'll got Lot's of Pennies, maybe a bar or two of Unobtainium!
