This is a 1995 Land Rovery that is my daily driver. It is in excellant mechanical condition! All time 4wd,factory hitch,New brakes(calipers/rotors as well) and too many other new parts to list.It is a 95 so it is not perfect but the body is good and aluminum! The leather is showing signs of wear and the stereo is not working properly. The a.c./heat works great. If interested I can email more pics.Cool winter car and play toy! text or call Kevin (317)753-6089 may also be interested in trading for small Honda or Toyota(something good on gas) 2000 or best offer or trade. This probably runs better than rovers on here for twice the money. 118000 miles 3.9 v8 automatic transmission rebuilt title
A Challenged-priced Disco that looks decent? Yeah, it's got a rebuilt title, but that doesn't bother me if done "right."
trans will probally go out - and you will chase problems with it.. but as long as that dosnt bother you (won't bother me) it is one of those most fun off road rigs I have ever played with. I would take it in a heart beat...

depends on why it was rebuilt, kinda
it would already have enough electrical issues without flood damage making things even wierder, ya know?
oh wait - i was supse to convince you not to buy it - ok its british so it will make you think of thise god awful wedding crap thats going on..
What's 2000 for a nice toy like that? You could get rid of it pretty quick in a bind too. What's the loss. (I'm new to the talk me down threads.)
Why would you possibly want that?

Single most unreliable POS on the planet.... it's the whole reason i've avoided them to this point. Buy a Jeep. Oh wait- you already have one.
Supra isn't actually mine... selling for a friend that's taking my garage spot up with it.
I'm somewhat familiar with these things... i think the key is to find out WHY it has a rebuilt title. I wouldn't put enough miles on it to worry about the potential (and highly overstated in my opinion) transmission problems anytime soon.

My Range Rover Classic wasn't bad at all... At least in terms of getting you to where you needed to go. Granted, the memory-storing power seats may have crushed me into the steering wheel and refused to move back to a more comfortable position once, or four times... but it never failed to start or drive.
Suggest you PM Keith bout these. He's owned one or two. Me, not high enough MPG for a daily driver. As a second vehicle, I say, go ahead.

Thanks!
It wouldn't be a primary driver, mainly for the bad bad weather days we get around here, and maybe some junkyard runs to pick up motors and such. I do already have a Cherokee, but SWMBO drives it daily, forcing me currently to attempt to hump the MX6 through inclement weather.
Keep in mind that while the outer cladding of the body is aluminium, the frame and some of the inner structure is not, so you get plenty of scope for contact corrosion and holes developing in places you don't see immediately.

Yep, found that out the hard way with my Rangie when the liftgate decided to rust to pieces overnight.
I don't see how you can go wrong. Those things are poppin up all over around here for short money. Buy two. If the tranny goes, then you have a nice donor engine for a MGBV8 or TR7 project.

Seriously, something that can tow your other cars around, has 4wd, is cheaper than many GRM Challenge cars, allow you both to get to and from work safely in bad weather so you don't have to drive the unsafe 2wd, and won't embarrass your wife to take to dinner? Don't buy it
Head gaskets will either have already been done, or will need to be done. Lots of little electrical niggles abound, but most of them will let you get home.
Little expensive things will break all the time driving you to bankruptcy, but it will always always start, or it will just be a switch keeping it from doing so, leading you to continue to hold out hope that it "will be reliable after just this one more repair." Three years and $13,000 later you will sell it for $1,000 in a huff and hope to never see another one again. Six months after that, you'll find yourself missing the English leather smell and road commanding seating position and find yourself cruising Craigslist for another one. A classic addiction cycle of regret, denial, and relapse will follow.
So I see no reason to say no!!
read this thread carefully. Lot of Disco and Disco2 advice in it. Most (but not all) of it against...

Quoted for truthiness and hilarity. Though he forgot to mention the amount of gas you will be consuming at $4/gallon +
However, since you are obviously going to buy it, some help/inspiration from the wheeler dealers:
TDI Disco
So get a detailed list of everything that has been done. They need LOTS of things done by that age to keep them from being really annoying.
Short list:
-Head gaskets
-all driveshaft U-Joints
-All bushings/tie rod ends, etc... in suspension
-All window regulators within last 10k miles
-Radiator/water pump/fan clutch/hoses/thermostat
-regular transmission/transfer case maintenance or rebuild
They are cool though. That one looks a lot like my 99.
I'm going to do what I usually do in a thread like this and suggest something else. I always assume the suggestion won't get any real attention by the OP but in these situations it seems like the best thing to do. Here goes.
GM B-body wagon. They're cheap. They're big. They can get almost acceptable mileages. They accept all sorts of cool engine options. Torsen-type LSD's are commonly available. They tow well. They aren't hard to get parts for. They tow well. Used OEM wheels are cheap, so you can have a set of good 3 season tires (stuff that handles rain well and all that jazz) and then a set of dedicated snows. Cop parts, parts from the Impala SS, etc are all out there.
Is that the year Land Rover included the Check Engine Light Bingo game on the dash?

I looked into Discovery I & IIs, There is some good explanations over on expedition portal. turns out they get about 11 mpg and take PREMIUM. so there is that, and they are broke nearly all of the time.
So basically... everything i'm hearing is that they're worse in pretty much every way than a Range Rover Classic?
