Of course, for $10,000 you could buy a brand new shifter kart that will do three laps in the time a passenger car will do two.

I may be guessing, but I imagine insurance prices may be awful for these things.
a nd miata is half as much to insure
Yuck. I'll have to talk to my insurance agent tomorrow anyway. If it turns out a BRZ is more expensive to insure than the Alfa, that's going to be a pass then. Might have to look at the Mini after all.
So a certain annoying gecko quoted me less than $300/6months, which is less than I expected.
My current agent would've loved to quote me if their headquarters with all their computer systems weren't in Texas.
Well, that was a tad disappointing - my current insurer is charging me 20% more than the Gecko for this car.
Oh well, this afternoon's coffee break was just about long enough to get the quote process started with Erie Insurance.
Made it home safely. I also learned that backing down the driveway that I store my trailer on (our house has two driveways) is a really bad idea when there's a car on the trailer. Drive way is super narrow and with a car on the trailer I can't see out the back well enough to not miss the driveway. Ah well, the license plate on the trailer looks rather second hand now and I'm hoping the small conifer someone planted as a catch-all tree for muppets trying to back up their trailers will recover...
Extra fun was provided by my truck deciding halfway through the journey back that turn signals really weren't a thing anymore. Yay, more stuff to nickle and dime me with, especially as the hazards still work so it's not something nice and cheaper like the flasher relay.
