Saw this on Facebook. 

Trying to think of a clean, strong way to pull this off for a Miata.

I'm thinking more "why" than "how," but you could have downward-curving hooks on the bumper that mount into upward-opening channels near the top of the radiator, and then fasten at the bottom with latches in the front wheel wells.

I could see this being very useful for flat towing. Especially with a splitter/etc.

Precisely. You may notice that ultra rare bumper on the front of the NSX. Which I’m sure this guy does not want to screw up. I was thinking more or less, as a simple way to ingress egress trailers and parking lots. As well as, working on things that are placed in the front bumper area such as oil coolers or intercoolers.

Rather than hinge I would look to make the bumper quickly removable with zeus fastners.
