We use one with the 4-runner - works great. Has a long enough hitch insert the tailgate clears. My only complaint is the exhaust dumps right at a bungee mounting point, so the right corner bungees melt and snap.

On my Thule the top overlaps the bottom piece by about 3/4". I haven't had water in it except for snow melting off the skis.

I riveted a piece of aluminum roof flashing on mine to direct the exhaust away and act as a heat shield. works well.
