It appears as though the "5"and ) have the same basic shape on the bottom where they are held together.
So as long as you keep the wire and guts on the backside of the emblem, no one would be the wiser.

Every time they schedule one of these trips I look to see if Pomona is going on and the planets have yet to align. I will be flying out when the gates open

They are the same shape. I think careful work with a dremel will be the ticket. One of the things I really like is how stripper the van is so I'm not sure I will add them if they were not original, but we will see how it turns out.
