So no matter what I did, even after logging on to turbo bricks, and seeing that I was logged on, I was not able to view all of the pages. I kept getting asked to sign in. So I used another email address, created a new id and after viewing some pages..whammo, I got this little gem!
"vBulletin Message
You have been banned for the following reason:
You are on a 3 day administrative ban due to a possible spam email address. Prove to me you're not spam within 3 days or you're banned. buzzzyboi@gmail.com
Date the ban will be lifted: 11-16-2010, 04:00 PM"
Talk about being guilty before proving you're innocent lol! Is spamming that much of an issue?
I went ahead and sent in an email. Wife sometimes thinks I'm inhuman but hopefully the webmaster will buy my story that I'm not a catatonic computer.

My guess is once your in you will not have to bothered by a ton of spam. Seems like a good deal to me.
Sure, maybe poorly worded but likely effective.
I never see spam there, and this is probably why. Don't take it personally.
and here I'm thinking you suggested a SBC swap...
As a forum administator, I can account for the amount of spam a forum receives. Although we usually catch it pretty quick, its still a thorn in our side.
Yeah, spam can be a pretty real problem. Maybe the message could have a bit more tact, but I don't blame them for being proactive.
Yep, on Maxima.org if you make multiple accounts from the same IP address, it flags the usernames. It is clear in the FAQs there that multiple usernames are not permitted and will result in bans, unless it is multiple people in the same household logging on.
When people woudl get banned for other offenses, they'd think they were smart creating a new username with a different email......but they still got flagged.
definitely for anti spam, and to elminate banned persons from coming back.
