I think that, as I get older, I would spec out the Focus ST as more of a GT car. No Recaro's, no NAV...but with a moonroof.
But, the Fiesta ST would be stripped down as much as possible with Recaro's.
And thats exactly what I want
-Ford Fiesta ST
-ST Recaro Package
-Race Red paint.
-NO OTHER OPTIONS!
I still need to get out and test drive the Genesis Coupe. It seems there are some 2013 3.8 R-Specs around town that are starting to get marked down pretty heavily, and I think there are a few 2013 2.0T / manual models in ths same boat. I kind of doubt the R-Specs have heated seats, though

There is a member here...RyanS that just bought an orange one. Let me see if I can get him to respond regarding his price and options.
Tried to order a Fiesta ST like I wanted, but dealer was a few hundred over my max price, and I'm pretty sure he lied to me about Ford Credit's rates. I'll be keeping it high on the list, but it's reached the point that I've realized I could be happy with anything I've test driven, except maybe the Abarth.
Test drove a WRX hatch, and it felt pretty much as anti-social as the Fiesta, but definitely not as nice on the inside. Also, the price hurts. A mechanic acquaintance of mine who specializes in Subarus also warned me away from it. He seems to be of the opinion the FA engine in the upcoming 2015 models has more reliability potential.
Also, took a BR-Z for a spin, and must retract part of my earlier review of the FR-S. There was still some dead travel at the bottom of the clutch pedal, but nowhere near what was in the FR-S I drove. I'm assuming the Scion's clutch had something wrong with it. Also, took the BR-Z on some nice windy roads. Nice.
Ford X-Plan is showing a total of $1504 off any FiST right now (base price $19,896 plus delivery/taxes/fees) for my zip code at least. Anyone can get that pricing or better. Hope it helps...

Is that 1500 including the incentives or is that before the incentives? They were willing to get my price if they could do a dealer swap, but not if I ordered the car. The only Recaro-only car in hundreds of miles was Oxford White, not Race Red.
Also, they claimed Ford Credit would be around 6%. I can believe 1-1.5% more than the 2.75 I can get from the credit union, but that high of a number made me think they were padding it to get more profit.
$1250 of that was incentives (for my zip code anyway.) As far as I know you can get X-Plan or better on any car, ordered or in stock. I guess you just have to find a dealer/salesman who wants the sale.
Interestingly that same system takes $2810 off a Focus ST today. So what I found 5 months ago is perhaps still true now... not as many deals to be had on the FiST. Or at least they may be harder to find.
6%, yikes. Sounds like that dealer doesn't want your business. Mine got me 1% better through Ford Credit than Wells Fargo or Capital One were offering at the time.

Well, I get to eat these words. Test drove one again on Saturday. Negotiated a deal today, and there's now one sitting in my driveway. I couldn't resist the prices they were offering them for, and they had one optioned out exactly how I'd spec it (except maybe the graphics)

That's when you tell them to try again. "Get a better interest rate, or I will use my credit union." When we bought our Mazda's ~4 years ago, they tried the "Oh we got you approved at 10%" or something stupid. I just flat out told him, "You have my income and credit scores, yes? Do you want me to purchase a car from you? Don't call me again unless you have the correct number."
A few of the times I've purchased through a dealer, I've still used the favored credit union locally, but the dealer had an account with them. So I still get the same rate as going through the CU, but the dealership does the paperwork and gets a small cut for originating it for the CU.

Problem for me was, the biggest incentive was the Ford Credit incentive. Not that it matters anymore. I managed to get the Abarth for about $4K less than I was trying to get the Fiesta for. Leaves more money in the customizing and racing budget
