I have been building Ford motors for a while and now find myself at a loss. I have a 91 Honda Si that ran great when I parked it, a few weeks later it no starty. Spins but no pop. Compression test shows 30psi(I didn't know guages went that low). Checked timing belt, right on, pulled valve cover, all valves not touching cam. That was 30 on all four cylinders. Leak down test =100% leak on all four cylinders. Pour oil to seal rings and still100% on all four. No oil in radiator, no water in oil. What am I missing?

Timing WAAAAAYYYY off?

Make sure the timing belt hasn't slipped. That's my first instinct.

The nice thing about a leak down test is that you can determine the location of the leak.

if all the valves aren't touching the cam, might they be stuck open? that just doesn't seem right, even if the valves are closed, they should still be touching the cam, no?

Been through the timing belt, and a loose rotor, timing is right on, valve lash is right on the money, I'm thinking head gasket, but all four at once?

It's unlikely, but I guess it's possible?

I would run through and make sure that your leakdown/compression tester is working (on another car) before pulling the head!

Good compression, good leak down, no pop. What pop? Is there spark?

You need gas, air and spark. Got 'em?

How is that GOOD Compression?

Holy hell, loss of compression on all cylinders!?....if you have a spark it must be some sort of spontaneous headgasket failure. If you don't have a spark it's spontaneous pressure tester failure.

Hmmm...weird. Maybe get a fitting that will screw into a spark plug hole and run some compressed air into it...see if you can figure out where the air is going?

Here goes, put some 20-50 oil in #1 to check rings, still 30ish. Turned motor by hand and went up to 100 or so and dropped off. Put a lot of oil in #1 and same thing. Put oil in #2 and tried, but got a large face full of oil from #1. Pulled the head, and didnt see any head gasket problems, but this motor has 1 & 2 cylinders siamezed, and 3 & 4 saimiezed. Two small head gasket spots failed at the same time?
