Hi Guys,

I have a 1990 CRX Si that I am finally getting back on the road after an engine transplant. I was running the stock rim/tire (185/60HR14) before the transplant, but since I have bigger brakes I need to update the rims/tires. Since this will be mostly a daily driver, I am leaning on the conservative side and thinking about a simple +1 upgrade to 15" rims and 195/50 tires. The problem I have is that it is hard to find 15" rims that have a width smaller than 7". 195/50 tires seem a little narrow for a 7" rim. Since the CRX does not have power steering I am worried about going larger than 195, but I realize that this may be necessary. So, is a 7" rim o.k. to use with 195/50 tires? If not, would the drivability suffer with 205/50 tires? I don't really want to go to a 16" rim since they are quite a bit heavier. The 15" rims I am looking at are around 14.5 lbs and the 16" version of that same rim are more than 3 lbs heavier. I really appreciate any help you can offer.

John
