I seem to have a slight leak. Can anyone identify this plug for me? Is there an o ring or some other replaceable seal? I'm a little wary of unbolting transmission related things unless I know what they are. It seems to be standard 1/2" drive.

Good call. '09, manual.

It looks like it's just an access plug but that feels like a weird thing to leak

go to a dealer website, and look up a parts diagram.  That will tell you what you are asking

Well, for those of you playing at home, it's just a cover. It seals with loctite, so I just cleaned it up, reapplied and bolted it back in. Let's hope that takes care of it.

And the drain plug is on the other side of the axle, I'm not that bad of a mechanic!
