Hooked on driving?

Anyone been to one of their events? It looks like there are 2 this fall at AMP and I need a track fix sooner than later.....

They ran with one of the clubs I TT with last year at NJMP, mostly people with little track experience driving high end cars. Seemed like a well run outfit and I would probably have had fun running with them if they were racing as well. It was an odd mix, us running a TT while they were out for an HDPE during the same session. If you are looking to get out on the track and have some fun they will likely fit the bill. If you are looking for some competition you might want to try some other group.

Would love to have a proper race track near me. All I have is Ky Speedway who has "no plans to add onto the infield". And why would they want to make more money by having track days, and different racing series other than NASCRAP on the track?

Then again, there is the Bluegrass Raceway but it's privately owned, and last I heard the current owner is watching the track literately wash away.

We haven't run with them but we have run with JZilla Track Days if you're in the North Georgia area - they're a smaller group but that just means more run time, prices are reasonable, very well managed and executed, usually catered so you don't pass out. They run AMP but have expanded to Road Atlanta and CMP. Just make sure you pay attention to the differences in the tech inspection/track rules which vary, not major but worth pointing out.

Another good group in the area is Just Track It. I think they are doing AMP on August 29th. I haven't driven with HOD, but I have driven with jzilla and JTI and I would recommend both of them.

I've driven with hooked on driving twice now. Once in California and once in the Midwest. Both were good experiences but irc they're franchised so there were differences. Outside of the beginner classes, it seemed like it was a good mix of cars with decently experienced drivers.

We just participated in a Hooked on Driving track day at Homestead-Miami Speedway with our M235i.

They offer a fun, relaxed, non-competitive place to run. They are not Hooked on Racing, they are Hooked on Driving---- so driving technique and education are their main emphasis--- not race craft.

They offer catered lunches, and probably the most open, friendly staff out of any track day we've been part of. It's a very fun / community type event, but still very safe, and professional.

I'd absolutely recommend HOD for anyone looking for plenty of fun on track. Super competitive folks may want to steer elsewhere, as aggressive driving / passing is frowned upon. There were plenty of serious race-prepped cars out running when we were there, but the overall feel was one of a friendly get together----- not a red-mist inducing competition showdown.

HOD Southern States is run by Dave, and his events are top notch. All of the comments from Joe Gearin would definitely apply to Dave's events as well.

HOD is excellent out here in Northern Cali. Best run organization that I've ever run with in 20+ years of doing HPDEs. Also some of the best instructors thanks to the effort they put into the instructor program.
