Hop up a Quad-4 ?

What would the hive do to add power to a Quad-4 for less than $1500 ? It's in a stock location,FWD Olds.

Street driving? Challenge car? Enduros?

Challenge foremost, and then a track rat.

Assuming it's the LD2 (150HP), swap it out for either the HO (180HP) or W41 (190HP) variants. The 086 head casting flows the best as well.

My BIL used to race these a lot. Without an LSD on the W41 they start becoming useless.

It has a Torsen diff in it.I'm not sure which version of engine, it's a 1989 FWIW.

Quads4rods has a few parts. Mantaparts used to be a source, but they are gone now.

if you aint serious about thatcar, I am. ill buy it if you don't. gotta find the info for the owner so I can get up with him.

I would have jumped at it this morning if I had someplace to put it. There are already two vehicles parked in the driveway and four more indoors. The HOA here is pretty lenient, but I wouldn't want to push it. Some one got a great deal though.

Thankfully they are gone, possibly the worst run business out there. Yep I had dealings with them years back, luckily I did get my parts, unlike others.

I do miss the 92 Achieva SCX W41 I had, fun little car. I would like to put a HO or W41 in my MGB, that could be a whole bunch of fun.

Unlikely to be true, but if it is the diff itself is worth far more than the car.

I would definitely love one of those old Quad 4 Olds cars for a daily driver or track beater.

I remember vividly when I went with my dad, my uncle, and my cousin to buy my cousin's first brand new car: an early 1990's Olds Achieva 2-door with a stick. My dad was an Olds guy, and convinced my cousin that Olds was the way to go. My dad and the salesman were egging him on to buy the Achieva SCX they had on the lot, but I'm pretty sure he ended up leaving with a regular 4-cylinder car. They had all sorts of posters and even video tapes playing racing footage and promoting the racing pedigree of the Quad 4 and the Aurora V8. That car had the deepest dashboard of any car I have ever seen. It looked like it went about 8 feet from the glove box to the windshield! I thought it was a cool car back then, because anything with a manual and 2 doors was a sports car to my 12 year old eyes, but I would 100% rock a real SCX or a Quad 442 today.
