After making some changes to my RX-7, I re-initialized the standalone ECU and started on the idle learning process from a cold start. I was messing around outside and came in 10 minutes later to check on it and turn on some electrics to increase the load and I smelled something that seemed like burning that wasn't one of the usual FD smells.

I popped the hood and couldn't see find anything unusual. Looked under the car and the greasy nasty piece of cardboard I always leave on the garage floor was literally smoking from the heat of the highflow cat. If I had been outside any longer it may have auto-ignited and burnt the whole car/garage/house to the ground, who knows. This after only 10 minutes of idling from a cold start.

Another thing to add to the "not to do" list for garage safety. Careful out (or in) there guys!

Good save! Hey Armitage, I remember your Galant from galantvr4.org several years back. If I recall you had Forgelines on your FD and I had some on my Gvr4 at the time. Eventually I had to get an FD too partially from your posts over there.

Hey, good to see a fellow GVR4/FD sufferer here! I see you've moved on to more insane projects (Subaru powered Ferrari!?!?) since. Me, I guess I'm just too attached to these old buckets to let them go.

Silly VA state emissions for 25 years D: My neighbors 10 miles away in Maryland are already historic at 20.
