Just wondering, how much interest is there in these sorts of things?
You have seen the Hot Wheels thread right?
I have a small collection of Hot Wheels and even some Micro Machines (which I did not even know they stopped making until a few years ago)
Yeah, I have a small bookcase with 3 shelves and a couple large cars on top. I don't even want to think of what I had as a kid...
I've probably got 50 on my file cabinet here at home. Mostly Hot Wheels of English cars (mostly Lotus), one or two larger die cast (an Elise and an Esprit), plus about 15 Hot Wheels (all Lotus) on my desk at work.
Always love to see the smaller side of the hobby. I have Hot Wheels covering one of my walls of my dorm.
I have plastic model kits and a few diecast 1/18 cars. I go on a model kit kick every so often and buy a few, but rarely have time to put them together.
I've got about 65 1:18 scale cars in a glass case in my den. Haven't bought anything new in several years.
I always look when I'm at the grocery store, I always buy if there's something I like. I'm partial to race cars and old Japanese cars, and anything I've owned.
mine:
Dig Hot Wheels, Matchbox, et. al. since they're much cheaper, easier to find, and take up less room than typical 1:43/:24/1:18 die-cast.
I look for ones to buy for me...errr...I mean for my son...whenever I think about it when I'm at the store. I pretty much just look for old J-tin (and a lot of awesome ones are coming out this year!), but sometimes I just let my son pick one out. I got an old Micro Machine case over half full of cars for $10 at the local flea market a few months ago. My 2 yr old son LOVES them!

This is one of my favorite matchboxes. I love the detail.
I've got a bunch at home and some at work. A mix of everything, but I shy away from the fictional stuff. I used to go to a local grocery store for lunch and would check out the latest stock... bought a lot that way.
I have a few 1:18 cars as well: two E30 M3's (one street, one race), a '71 Demon, and a 59 Ford 4x4 pick-up. ...and a handfull of 1:43 cars, the most notable being a VW Bora (Jetta) wagon that is a near copy of my car: exterior and interior colors and even the same BBS RXII wheels.
I which I had more disposal income to throw at Hot Wheels Elite:
Reminder of how much fun model car build threads are!

Yeah, when I found out they made one the same color as my truck I bought like eleven.

I had to buy all the colors in multiples because they were badass. I keep hoping for a McFly truck in this detail.
