1987 Porsche 924s Great project car. Runs and drives. Current inspection. Guards red, black leather interior, small dent on back passenger side quarter. Car can be hard to start, because of a faulty speed and reference sensor (common problem with these cars) Will start with a bit of starter fluid. 5 speed, rwd, very fun car. Comes with brand new shocks. Need to sell soon, hence the low price.

You own a Turbo FC. How bad could it really be, honestly?

Who puts three identical photos on a craigslist ad? Honestly.

Anyway, looks pretty good. I'm sure an LS1 will fit in there somewhere. Or maybe a JDM 2JZ? Something to make Porsche purists shake with rage.

Yup, I approve. The car is cheap enough to allow all manner of ill-advised swaps. It would be criminal to NOT buy it.

With the way my cheap car find luck runs... I'd have to have 7k sitting to the side to even begin that one. LS1 or Cummins 4bt sounds like a great idea to me.

What?! The turbo FC is the very paragon of reliability and thrift.

No, really. Is it naive to think that a sensor would fix this thing? Lemme guess, it's a $500 part and I need to pull the engine to replace it?

In reply to 1988RedT2:

It might be, or it could be an owner who has spent years chasing one small (but sort of expensive) thing after another and has wandered down the wrong path more than once. Now something else went wrong and he looked it up on the internet and while it's probably what he says it is, if it's not then it's $$$$$ and he's just so damn sick of dealing with this car that he doesn't want to turn another wrench on it (or pay someone to do it) and would just like the damn thing out of his life already. These things are always a gamble.

924s are like fat chicks or mopeds they're fun to ride but you don't want to be seen with one...I'd ride it

In terms of "how much E36 M3 am I getting into," with 10 being a '90s Corolla/Civic in good condition, and 0 being a BiTurbo that's not running, I'd say this is about a 6.5.
