Did you ever get around to driving one?
My wife and I got to the dealer 15 minutes too late and I have to travel this week. I'll have to postpone until late next week....unless I test drive one while traveling...

Done and done. ...plus a few other things.
I can't comment on the Abarth because they were not on my radar when shopping for a toy. I NEED a backseat and a hatch, so the Fiesta ST was a perfect fit for me. Compared to other small, light cars I have driven and raced (Civics, MR2, VW) the FiST has one thing that most other do not: Torque. On a dynojet, they put down over 220 ft/lb at the wheels on 91 octane... not bad for a car rated at 214 at the crank. (And I run 93 octane because I don't live in California.) It gives the car a really satisfying punch that makes it more than just a momentum car. The handling is amazing out in the real world, the longer wheelbase makes it less twitchy and stable in the sweepers. I haven't been to an autocross yet (Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!) so I will be interested to see how it handles the tight stuff.
I smile ear to ear every time I drive the Fiesta, and so does my 2-year old in the back seat. (Faster Daddy!)
