I bought the vehicle running and driving. It was t boned pretty hard, but drove straight. It even made the 250mi trek home. A buddy and I yanked the engine and trans. Now I need to get rid of this ugly turd. So far no charity will take it because A) it's doesn't have an engine. And B) the title is not in my name. (I have bill of sale though).
Schnitzer steel said they will give 75$ a ton. It's a 25mi trip there. I'd have to deploy the airbags (can't do that without wiring...) punch a hole in the gas tank. And then Remove the rims and drain the diff fluid once I get it to Schnitzer. The other issue is I don't have a truck or trailer. U haul tow dolly is 40$ for two hours. Gas money to someone for a big truck to haul it. They are only open m-f 8-430pm. Anyone wanna guess when I work?
Any suggestions on getting rid of this turd?
CL ad for free or darn near free should net you someone who makes this go away at no expense to you.
Put it up in the free section of craigslist? Someone will show up for it
Or, cut it up into bite sized pieces with a sawzall. Pull airbags and apply 12v to leads, enjoy shenanigans. Or sell/give away separately
A friend of mine once cut up a Jeep Cherokee with a Sawzall and hauled it out of his yard in his pickup. He said it was remarkably easy.
Edit: Dangit! Someone beat me to it. AGAIN!
wow.. that was hard http://www.rustysautosalvage.com/oregon/sisters.html

Any good with a reciprocating saw? I got rid of Mustang II with one, a bunch of blades, and a smallish utility trailer.

Tried those places. Rusty is outta that business. He has a yard still but doesn't do much anymore because he's really old. I might see if he would take it if I bring it in....
Those other guys all want the title in my name.

This. There is someone out there for everything, you just have to find them. Or them find you.
Gonna try the c list. Called rusty sand apparently "they have no one in the area"

Im sure you can find a tweaker on CL to come get it. They will chop it up and scrap it to get around the title issue...

Swear to god, if c list don't work, I'm gonna bury this thing in the woods...

Why wasn't that the first option?

What I did with my last one, they came and got it for free so they could scrap it.
Scrappers will pick up anything. We had a dumpster left at a house that was repo'ed mid remodeled with no phone number or company identifications. I left it there for 3 months while we redid the house. When we were finishing, I put it up for scrap on c-list and it was gone in a day.
About 3 months later, the company that owned the dumpster gave me a call, but that is a different story...
I put an s10 frame and cab on c list once. No suspension, nothing.Within 45 miminutes therewas a pair crackheads and a flatbed pickup in my drivdriveway carrying it off the jackdtands into their truck.

Our local Street Survival School does an airbag demonstration each year. They blow up an airbag to show the students just how much force there is and how quickly it activates. If the school near you does this, donate the airbags to them.
How about a local fire department that needs a demonstration/practice car...
In reply to stafford1500:
Just called. They don't need it.
Put on the LIST. Let's see what happens...
With a good corded sawzall with a good blade you can chop up a car into manageable chunks very quickly.
