I put a set of general grabber UHPs on my 05 Fronty. The were cheap & the wet/dry traction was great, especially compared to the very crappy OE generals they replaced. I'm not sure how they would fare in mud since the tread looked pretty streety, but still deeper and more open than the "sport truck / suv" tires from Michelin etc.

Long Trail TA's ROCK! easily a 60k tire if you keep them rotated, and robust enough you can add 15extra psi, to help out with towing. BFG AT's seem to be the "standard" around here, it seems like everyone is running them. But my dad has been using the long trails on his trucks for years, I've had them on my S-10's for the last 3 years. 30x9.5's are a great size, at least on our s-10/blazer.

This is the first board where I have ever heard something favorable said about Long Trail TAs.

I have had BFG ATs on my last two 4x4s. They have taken me through mud, ice, rocks, over 2 feet of snow, and are pretty quiet. They are more expensive than some competitors, but worth it. I am also a big believer in having the exact same spare as the other four tires on a pickup/suv that will ever be used for work type activities. More expensive. Yes. But Murphy has a way of of making you wish you would have spent the extra $300 bucks...

I buy the Mastercraft tires the local tractor place sells. They are re-branded Coopers and wear like iron with 60 lbs of tire pressure (as all good load range E tires should have) and get me around fine in any road condition I'm willing to take a 2WD truck.

depends on what the truck is used for. Ours is a combo tow pig, and a long distance "family" hauler so I wanted somethign that could handle the loads and be fairly comfy and wear well.

I went with the Kumho KH51's in 265/65R17's on the crew cab. They are wider than stock (245/70) abd have a higher load rating. I have to say they were great in this years snow. So much better than the POS generals I removed, shot, set on fire then shot the ashes again for good measure*
