This would be on a 2000 Chevy Silverado . I haven't seen the truck yet, so I don't know what kind of ignition it is (ie - distributor, distributorless, coil on plug). Can anyone help me out? Thanks, Jim

I know haynes maunals are kind of frowned upon here, but one of those and a multi-meter would be where I would start.

Autozone should have a book with the specs for a bunch of coils and how to test them. Its usually hidden under the alt/starter tester and no one knows how to use it with all the letters and numbers you can't click on.

true story. they all have one, but first you have to find someone that can read AND knows what an ignition coil is.

not as easy as you'd think!
