How does the new -and most recent- gas crunch/prices affect EV sales?

There is no reason there won't be EV  Miata's. Forget about range limitations.  It will just take readjustment.  
Learn to eat and use the bathroom while you're charging.  Us Salesmen will sit in the car making calls and taking orders from our customers. Do our call reports and sending out quotes. 
 Service people will do their paperwork and bid quotes.  Etc. 
    Eventually batteries will be lasting a full day. 
    Doubt that? Look at history. You used to have to  brush the horse after every ride groom it muck out the stalls regularly, feed the horse, put shoes on the horse, fix the saddle and blanket etc.  then cars came along and quickly became the transportation method.

That is truth gas companies dumped vehicle service for C-Stores because they generate more profit and fewer complaints. In Canada its gone so far that Esso (Exxon) sold all its stations to 7-11. The 7-11s still are branded Esso and sell Esso fuel and lubricants but 7-11 runs it.
