How far have you gotten side tracked on a car hunt?

I mean, like looking for a 4wd DD and clicking on Jeepster pics, then looking for rust repair panels, engine swap options....

In my experience it's rarer to actually go look at what I need.

Same here. What i need is boring. Lol

If you don't set designated path it's not really side tracked is it.

I once was looking at Nissan muranos, getting ready to purchase (thank berkeley I didn't ) and bought a mini cooper instead. 

Jury's still out on whether or not that was a better idea. 

I was once looking for a old Mini and ended up buying a new 911.

I was looking for an FB RX-7 fuel tank today and found a treasure trove of replacement body panels for a Mk1 GTI.

I was looking at 55-59 Chevy pickups on FB marketplace, and ended up noodling ways to justify buying the hulk af a C-130 hurricane hunter on Govdeals.

My parents went to drive a 4WD Suburban and came home with a Toyota Echo. Can't explain that one for the life of me!

Went looking for a Volvo 122 to do a Miata body swap, could not find one, on the way to look at a Falcon Station Wagon as an alternative I ended up buying 2 Volvo 1800ES wagons. So, yeah, no ADHD in my DNA. Sorta.

What were we talking about? Squirrels?

Which model and year?  I might have a line on a decent one in Pittsburgh. It's an sa tank.  I still have them pop up from time to time since I was looking for a 5 letter tank for awhile.

God do I feel boring now. I go out to buy cars and come home with what I was looking for.

No. I'd be living in it if I did. It would have been worth it. It looked like it still had all 4 T-56 turbines and Hamilton props still hung. But I chose to live. Would have made a sweet coffin, though.

I'm the same way. Once I decide I want something, I hunt/search/wait until I find an example worthy of owning and buy it. I don't think of it as boring; I call it focused and determined. Sometimes knowing what you want and making it happen is a good thing. 😁

you could very easily move your family into a c130. A 59 chev truck not as much. Think of the rent savings!
