No. If you want security and strength, maybe do the standard pins and a locking pin in the middle? Huge bonus points if you hide it under the roundel 
Success! My only issue was having to elongate the holes in the hood to fix some alignment. Pretty sure that's why the latch part on the hood has a large footprint. (I also borrowed a rivet gun from my boss, and practiced on a sheet of metal a few times to get the hang of it. Glad I did.)
Can anyone explain why some of the quik-latch options are $30 and others are $300!?!? I don't get the giant leap.
Because there are cheap, Chinese knock-offs available on eBay, etc. so the cheaper ones are likely the knock-offs.

These were Sparco, so I figured I had a good name brand. Pretty cheap on eBay still.
