Or did I miss a thread somewhere? This thing is just...wrong, on so many levels. Which makes it fabulous.

I just started working on cars two years ago. Never even heard of rotary engines. Thats some sexy engineering.
I actually thought someone came up with a 2 stroke rotary- so it would be both louder and use more oil. Call me sad for that not being reality.

I am trying to picture how that would even work. You would have spark plugs and ports on both sides of the engine? And the crankcase volume stays constant, so there would be no way to force a charge.
Air cooled Wankels used side intake ports that pulled from crankcase volume so they needed a 2 stroke level of premix, but the intake vacuum came from normal means.
Hmmm...

You could use the 2nd rotor as a supercharger..
I think it would be easier to just use it normally though. Crankcase scavenged 2 strokes get their simplicity from using both sides of the piston, using crankcase windage as the intake stroke.
Now I am picturing a two stroke Wankel with a Roots supercharger on it like a GMC... The intake and exhaust ports would have to be at the top and bottom of the engine.
The potential for incredible HC emissions is astounding!
