When I was DDing my ('92) Golf, I threw the donut out, and put in a regular tire on a steelie. Seems "space saver" tires were actually illegal in Germany when the cars were designed, so the well for the spare could take a full-sized tire.

How big was the space where it was stored? Not trolling, bro..honestly curious. I mean, I couldn't get a 14" 205 in the Golf, but a 13" 165 fit pretty well.
