An anecdote why more is better. One of the most changed feature of the NB1 are the seats, as they are uncomfortable for many. Fit me perfectly.

We are all shaped different, so more is not a bad thing as long as there is memory.

1. Forward-aft.

Seat stiffness matters a LOT and having the seatback and seat bottom joined by deep sides is how a stiff seat is made.

For some reason I can never seem to set a seat with adjustable lumbar support to fit as well as a seat with no lumbar adjustment.

I have the 18 way sport seats in my 718. It was a lot to set up, but I find myself using them all. Not sure I need the thigh extension but the rest are all useful enough that I have two different settings (road and track/autocross) to adjust for comfort vs hold.

From personal experience, I don't ever really use it, but I often wish it were more adjustable because I tend to have my hair pulled back in a way that interfaces uncomfortably with the default position.

More adjustments are good if they are intelligently-designed. Adjustments for the sake of claiming you have all the adjustments isn't worth much. I'm 6'2" so many non-adjustable seats suck for me. There are a few that are key for me: 4-way lumbar adjustment, length and/or angle of the bottom cushion, and headrest height. Lumbar support too low isn't good, a seatback that stops mid-shoulder-blade isn't good, and a bottom cushion that doesn't fully support your thighs isn't good for long-distance driving comfort.

I realize the world isn't built around outliers, but I also always find it a little amusing how many people in the 5'6" to 5'10" ballpark tell me it can't be as big a deal as I make it out to be. frown

Caveat...I also sell aftermarket automotive seats for a living, and regularly get to see people 6'4" and/or 4'11" on the verge of tears of joy when I get them in a properly-adjusted seat for what might be the first time in their life. Totally makes my day! laugh

your response nailed it for me.....my parameters exactly thank you

Every manufacturer should just copy 2nd gen CRX Si seats; those were perfect.

Really, they should just copy the entire car as it was all perfect.

Remember when you just had a bench seat that could only move forward and back?

Does anyone "use" a headrest? My head never touches it unless im trying to or if im stretching.

I don't use it to rest my head, but I like to be able to adjust it to a good height to best help prevent whiplash in a wreck.

I do, always when the car permits.

My W126 Mercedes had THE BEST headrests. They would fold forward and make driving much more comfortable.
