I know... I have been reading and very much enjoying the thread.. and this might be the wrong group to ask the question to... But yeah... Anyway...
This wheel needs about an extra inch of offset to clear the brake... and there is currently not a brake rotor on there... The tire is a 205/60... going to run a 245 something..... or more...
So uhh...
This is the problem I have...
But.. lucky me.. I have a couple of these around..
So should I just do the wheel lip thing.. and maybe roll the quarter just a bit...
Or do I also use the top of the fender (it would need trimmed because I don't need that much flare) and either blend the back with the existing quarter.. or leave it open to move air.. and the former headlight bucket could be used as the beginning of a side scoop to feed the intercooler??
All this basically following body lines of course...
Roughly .. well very roughly.. something along these lines...
Looks like from your last pics that you would have a good amount of flair and possibly gain some air scoops for the new engine bay. Win-Win!
Just a thought, but would a Daytona rear quarter work any better?

I have a daytona outside.. I may give that a try.. It was the parts car that kindly donated its subframe for use back there... and I was think that tonight also...
Really I was just after the omni wheel lip because I had seen that a bunch with my dad at the British car shows.. There are quite a few MG's and Healeys running around with omni flares.... Then I got to looking at the whole fender... and reading the Box flare thread running here.. and the gears got turning..
I need to get this part figured out so I can get the wheel houses done...

At first I was do the top, but I actually like the little box addition, I suggest matching the fronts to the rears though.
Simply awesome...
I think you need a little more flare though...
As much as you can. Box it up baby!

OH HELL YES!!!!
I was actually thinking that my Shelby CSX also needs box flares.
Ever see the Direct Connection Yellow Bird?

Yeah.
Yes, I've seen the Yellow Bird. Pretty cool, in an 80's sort of way.
But the real question is...
Can I still join the DC Gang? I've got the car already, I can get a pleather Member's Only jacket, and can I guarantee that a woman with a perm and acid washed jeans in high heels will come out of a back alley to pose in front of it?

Did you hear... that "Yellowbird" Shadow got crushed not long ago
The charger will have flares for sure... But I was thinking maybe about a slightly different direction that may be just a bit more work.. Since well.. The car is officially a Charger-Daytona now... unlike any Charger-Daytona before...
Still thinking about it though.. I may try and figure out how to build the wheelhouse/quarter as to leave that an open slate for now..
Either option will look funny because it wont match the front. Maybe omni flares both front and back?

I will worry about the front later... But I am thinking after tonight that the daytona quarter is going to work up there... I do have plenty of omni parts around though... So no big deal....
Here is what I came up with tonight...
Stock...
The other side... The rear of the quarter will flow into the "fender flare"
And... The side scoop... Right now thinking a large shallow scoop...
Am I there yet?
lookin good. needs wider wheels.

There is no Brake rotor installed... and those wheels lack about 3/4 of inch of offset to be able to clear the caliper...
They are 15x7.... plan on 245's... maybe a bit bigger... (205's on there now) So it may end up with an 8 inch wheel... but.....
