I would love to 5.3L one of these...
Also I always loved the gauge cluster on these guys.
Just 2JZ it and be done with it, they are essentially Supra's underneath, so a wrecked Supra Turbo and some parts overnighted from Japan and you could have a pretty fun IS300 wagon.

I stand corrected. I just remember they being touted as Supra's in a fat suit. A 2jz swap still seems like a decent choice, even if it isn't as easy as one may think.
They already are 2JZ. They just need a turbo.
People boost non-turbo 2JZ all the time. It's one of the most commonly done turbo builds by far and they make a ton of power.
Just get a manifold, turbo, exhaust, and power FC or something.
In reply to Ditchdigger: No, in the late 90s and early 00s people started installing these taillights, THEN manufacturers did them to a few cars. Not quite the best decision because it is trendy.

I'm not so sure about that that, most often they were called Altezza lights, because they were patterned after the Toyota Altezza, the IS300's JDM counterpart.

At least they don't have a sequential turn signal function. Those are my least favorite rear lights right now.

Don't you have a vehicle with those???

I believe they're still somewhat related to the Supra, although they don't have quite as many parts in common. All IS300s in the US came with 2JZ power.
Correct on the E36 M3ty lights - the IS300, or Altezza, started it all. It was OE before it was E36 M3ty aftermarket.
<---Would spray the whole light red and/or tint it.
