See if there any airport hangars for rent. They expect people to be wrenching, they are often large, often cheap and since the economy has been down the hobby flyer group has gotten smaller.

I have a lift, work space, tools, metal shop, wood shop, tire changer, air, CNC router, CNC plasma cutter, MIG, TIG... you get the idea. Costs me, gosh, not sure I remember exactly - want to say $80 a month. Yeah. Sorry. Not really helping. But I do feel very lucky.

You just made my day. How is it. I need to know more.

How much of a garage can you build for $90,000? Especially when you use your own sweat equity and think outside the box again.. Bottom line is if you spend about a year you can build a great Garage/man cave. I built my own home and it's possible to do it yourself even without any knowledge or experience.. I'm not saying you can be stupid about it, there are plenty of books shows and people who know willing to teach you.. Building a house is simpler than building a car.. I know a lot of carpenters who can't even figure out how to change their own oil.. Don't go leading with your check book.. Educate yourself.. Check books out from the library, ask around, watch the pro's at work. There are plenty of shows on TV that will show you how. There will be plenty of neigh say'ers who tell you it's cheaper if you let the pro's do it or it will be better built etc.. That's not true. When you work on your own place you won't charge yourself labor or the cost of getting to and from the job site.. You don't have to add taxes to the wages you don't pay yourself. Or a profit.. I was quoted over 2 million dollars to build the house I'm in now. I built it with very little help for $400,000. (yeh! and a lot of my time) But how long would I have to work to earn $1,600,000? Or Maybe it's time you start thinking about buying your own home with a big garage? (or space to build one?)

Thanks!

I did think about all that, but this is not where i want to "settle down." I'm not going to be here long enough to make anything but renting a viable option.

Think more like $250/month for 2 years. I can't build much garage with that.
