Suggestions for an Optima yellow-top? It sat too long and went flat.

I'm cycling it on my battery tender but it's being stubborn...

I'm tempted to throw it on the 100amp and try to kick start it.

Any other thoughts?

I have heard that the Optimas do not like to be stored dead or close to dead...

Buy a new one. They dont hold up well to not being used.

Try this first: connect the yellow top in parallel with another battery - basically hook the charger to both positives and both negatives. Most chargers won't charge a flat battery because they sense little or no load. hooking it up with another battery should charge the optima.

After that, its just a matter of seeing if it holds the charge. Lead-acid batteries don't have a "memory" so as long as the long discharge didn't scale up the plates, you should be fine.
