I know, I have been a dick lately and haven't posted much. Been a long stretch of welding rusty cars, meetings, spreadsheets, deadlines, hiring and firing as of late.

So far this week has been a bit more fun. As I am sure David has or will post on our social media, I spent yesterday at Road America, running the full track in new M3s and new M4s. M is for Monster and not marketing, I can assure you of that with these new cars. Wow what a cool day and it has been a while since I have run here in anger. Today, Tom and I are at the BMW Performance Center where we took delivery of our M 235i project car. Ever the realist and the grassroots guy, Tom bitched at me for weeks for ordering this car. After running it at the track today, he has started saving for one of his own. The club guys who haven't driven this car yet are saying it isn't a real M car. That is fine. James Clay of Bimmer World joined us today, did some evaluation and agreed with me, this car is the second coming of the E-36 M3. For desert, we were invited to take the early 70s Quester, Lemans winning CSL out for some hot laps. Holy crap, what a great race car! No wonder it won everywhere it went. Full reports on all this stuff in one or both magazines, our social media and our sites.

Tomorrow back to meetings, spread sheets and a long ride home. It was so worth it. Driven a lot of cool, cars in my day, but was shocked just how great that old CSL still is. Thanks Scott Hughes for being silly enough to let me drive it and thanks to BMW for genuinely giving a damn about car guys like us.

Sounds awesome and can't wait to read about it but did you really need three posts to tell us about it

I know you have a low post count but you could just post in the ignore thread

I'll read about the new M cars and enjoy the read, but I will dream about driving a CSL.

Nice to hear that you had fun driving some cool cars. BMW has to care about car enthusiasts like us; who else is going to buy OEM parts for their 12+ year old cars?

Or, you could always just post this same topic another couple of times.... http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/how-was-work-today-dear/87422/page1/

I'm glad to hear you were able to find your happy place. I'd say any day involving M cars, road courses, vintage steel, and track time is a pretty good one!

Sounds like a pretty good week to me.

My morning started like this and headed down hill.

I spent the day arguing with a new pc. My network and it did not want to play nice.

I added dozens of rows of code to an existing VBA module to add additional functionality to an existing tool, just like I did the day before, and like I will do today, and probably tomorrow...once someone figures out you know how to do something, they begin to expect it

The good news? When I got home, and had to poop, there was my GRM, making my day all better. GRM, saving mankind, one poop at a time!

Haha. The comparison to an E36 M3 makes me want one, they're just such nice all-around cars. I'm curious to see what you guys will do with yours, I would guess a tune, diff, and some track wheels/tires?

Chuckle, would I be correct in surmising this stretch extended to before Carlisle?

You are quite correct. Lack of reading comprehension on my part I guess.

Kinda curious as well. Always thought it would be interesting to work for GRM except for the Florida part and the fear that I'd get canned and have to face the board members for dropping the ball :/

Probably not the best place to say this, but I wanted to say I'm so sorry for the loss of Tim's dad, Paul this morning. I can't imagine what you're feeling right now, but if you need to talk or just get your mind off of it, feel free to drop by and say hello to this great community you helped create.
