Put a car on track? Yes, please. But first, our suspension and safety equipment needed some proper preparation.

We initially took our Mazda MX-5 autocrossing but soon expanded to track days. How much faster could the car go on track, we wondered, if we pushed it beyond those cone-dodging rules? And could it compete nationally?

Any reason why you didn't go with the sway bars FM designed?

Progress makes the stiffest front bar available in the OE style (per the rules).  Very similar range, albeit less granularity in adjustment, as the Karcepts bar we had been running for autocross.

The rear FM bar is too stiff for our liking.  The Megan bar is about halfway between the stock bar and the FM.

Nearly 10 sec improvement for about $5500 is amazing. Results would probaby be even better with an ND2

Any issues with keeping the engine cool with stock radiator?

Does the factory build in a windage tray, or is there no oil starvation in corners ?

Love keeping up with this platform story so much that I bought an ND3 club this year.

Interested to know if you're looking to revisit the 200 endurance segment with an eye to the new-ish Conti extremecontact force.  It seems like the new go-to with daily potential and ok manners in the wet.  Even tire rack hasn't done a deep dive on this one yet. I was curious why?

Keep up the straight talk Andy 💪

We did ECF two years ago... https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/articles/continental-extreme-contact-force-200tw-tire-test/

And Tire Rack did their test a year ago: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=315
